Cogswell Macy Act

The Cogswell Macy Act will benefit the lives of our students who are blind and visually impaired by helping to secure the expanded core curriculum in special education services and help include additional vision professionals like VRTs to help support the TVIs in addressing the vast spectrum of needs our students have. It will help them to enter adult life armed with all the tools they need to reach their personal, educational, and professional needs. This is an Act that all vision professionals and related service professionals support. You can help by calling, emailing, or reaching out to your Representatives and Senators to let them know of your support for this Act between July 27th, (Helen Keller’s Birthday) and July 1st. Make your voice heard! Below you can find links to importatn information about this act. Share this with everyone you know and ask them to do the same! Thank you!
